Effect Of Bee Propolis On Asthma

Effect Of Bee Propolis On Asthma

What Is Asthma?

Asthma is long-term chronic airways inflammation, narrowing the intrapulmonary airways (bronchi) and tenderness. Allergens, respiratory tract infections, cold air, air pollution, nutritional additives, drugs, smoking, chemicals, pungent odors, stress, and reflux trigger asthma. Cough, wheezing, chest tightness, and shortness of breath are among the symptoms seen in asthma.

Scientific Studies on the Effect of Propolis on Asthma

In scientific studies, it has been observed that propolis, an utterly natural bee product, helps reduce asthma symptoms.

In a double-blind, randomized controlled scientific study conducted in 2019, the effect of propolis on moderate asthma was investigated. Fifty-two asthma patients participating in the study were divided into experimental and control groups. The experimental group received 75 mg of propolis support three times a day for one month. According to the results, the asthma control test results of the experimental group were higher than the control group.

Researchers reported that propolis could improve clinical and physiological findings in asthma. In line with scientific publications, it is seen that propolis has beneficial effects on the respiratory tract.

As observed in scientific studies, asthma severity and frequency decrease in asthmatic individuals who regularly use propolis. We regularly recommend 20 drops of an extract containing at least 20% pure Anatolian propolis daily.
