This study investigated the effects of Anatolian propolis on absence seizures and anxiety-like behaviors in rats with genetic absence epilepsy (GAERS model). Rats were administered different doses of propolis, and their seizure activity was assessed using EEG recordings, while behavioral changes were evaluated through anxiety-related tests. The findings showed that propolis reduced both the frequency and duration of absence seizures and improved anxiety-like behavior in epileptic rats. These results suggest that Anatolian propolis may exert neuroprotective and anxiolytic effects, potentially through its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, indicating its promise as a complementary therapeutic agent for absence epilepsy.
